Writing Your Name in Hebrew

Do you know that:

  • The Hebrew alphabet is written from right to left.
  • There is no differentiation between capital and small letters.
  • The Hebrew alphabet contains only 22 letters. (Do you know how many letters there are in Polish alphabet? 32).

Let’s try to write your name in Hebrew!

MATERIALS

  • The Hebrew alphabet (attachment 16.1)
  • pencils/pens

Instruction

Print out the Hebrew alphabet from attachment 16.1 and hand out a copy to every child. Ask the children to take a look at the letters and find those which they will need to write down their names. Older children can write their own names in Hebrew. Younger children can cut out the letters they need and glue them to a sheet of paper. Check the results.
