Monochromatic picture of recycling

Discussing recycling with children is a great occasion for them to create beautiful and creative pieces of art. However, before creating the next work from recycled materials we highly encourage to take into consideration what is going to happen with the art piece after it is made. Is it going to be thrown away, or maybe it will be used later?

How much space does it take? This decision will be highly influenced by parents. They are the ones who will decide whether the work of art will be kept as a souvenir or be thrown away. Are we going to use previously bought materials from plastic, which usage be reduced? We would like to propose the creation of a work of art using an old newspaper.

materiały, niezbędne do wykonania pracy

  • Piece of white paper
  • Newspapers
  • Black and white acrylic or poster paint
  • Brush
  • Water to clean the brushes
  • Glue

Step 1

kartka pomalowana w połowie na czarno i w połowie na biało

Paint one side of the newspaper using white paint and the other side using black. Leave a third of the newspaper page unpainted. Let the paint dry. When the paint is completely dry, tear the newspaper into thin straps (these are going to be trees) and also shapeless segments (these are going to be hills and snowdrifts).

Step 2

First, stick parts of an unpainted newspaper, to create a background. On top of that stick white and black trunks, branches, hills and snowdrifts. In this way, you will be able to create an outstanding winter landscape.
