– Rabbit Jump is already at the start bar… he started beautifully… and went far! He landed on 134 meters! – said Bear the Judge through a megaphone.
– Bravo! – the supporters shouted and clapped.
– You go, Kamil! – exclaimed Tola as loud as she could – Great jump!
– Great, only I didn’t see anything… – said Pola woefully.
– Me neither – said Tola, still clapping – But I’m sure Rabbit jumped beautifully.
On that day in Zakopane, there was an amateur’s competition in ski jumping, taking place at the famous Great Krokiew. Animals from all over Poland came to try to jump on the ski jump. One of the competitors was… Rascal. Unfortunately, the day of the competition smog appeared in the area above town. It was so dense that the supporters could barely see the ski jump…

– Boys and girls – through the megaphone came a voice – sJust for you to Zakopane came not only Rabbit Jump, but also Adam Little! That’s our Eagle! – Screamed the commentator, and the supporters shouted and clapped. – JBefore the competition officially starts, Eagle the Little is going to jump just for you!
– Hurrah! – came from the tribunes.
Adam Little, who was an eagle, started beautifully and flew far, far…
– Fly, Adam, fly! – cheered the crowd.
– Fly, Eagle! – they shouted, even though no one could see anything.
– Adam, Adam! – cheered Tola, trying to see the jumper in the smog.
– Something happened… – said the Judge through the megaphone. – ‘Adam the Little fell over! I can’t see clearly but he fell down… around 130 meter, I think…
– What?! – The crowd was surprised.
The Judge was speechless. After a moment he informed that Adam wasn’t injured. Because of the smog he didn’t see anything and couldn’t land well.
– How’s that possible? –asked the animals on the tribunes.
– Cancel the competition! – said someone.
– Let’s do it on a different day!
– It’s dangerous! We need to wait for another day, when the smog is cleared off!

After a 10 minute break, Bear the Judge spoke to the supporters.
– Girls and boys, because of the smog, we’ve decided to wait with the competition. Continuing would be dangerous for the competitors’ life and your health. You not only can’t see the ski jump, but also are barely breathing. There’s a lot of… – he stopped, coughing – ‘We shouldn’t be outside in such conditions. Let’s hope the situation will look better tomorrow – he added.
The next few days weren’t any better. Tola, Pola, and a crowd of other supporters came to the ski jump every day, hoping that the competition will start. But they were sent away, because the smog alarm was still on. Finally, on the fifth day, Rascal came really resigned…
– I think I won’t take part in this competition. The training will be wasted! – he said, angry.
– But Rascal, what are you saying… – squeaked Tola – Jwill be coming here even for half a year for you. The weather must change one day…
– Yes, it will… in spring. Not only will the smog disappear, but also the snow… – he growled.
– Then we have to do something, now! – Tola exclaimed.
– But Tola – zthe owl laughed – żFor the competition to take place, you’d have to chase away the smog. You’re good at negotiating, but I don’t think that clouds would listen to you – she laughed again.
– We’ll see! – Tola was adamant.
She got up and disappeared in the crowd, and appeared by Eagle Little and Rabbit Jump. From far away they could see her whispering something, and the jumpers nodding with understanding.
– Does she really think that Rabbit Jump or Eagle Little could chase the smog away? – sasked amused Pola.
– I don’t know… You know Tola, everything’s possible with her…

After a few minutes Tola and the two most famous ski jumpers stood before the tribunes.
– Buddies, who wants to see the ski jumping? – sasked Tola through a megaphone so loud it squeaked.
– Me! Me!
– And me! Why’s that a question, we all want it!
– That’s why we’re here!
– So we need to chase the smog away! – said Tola firmly.
The tribunes fell silent.
– How? – someone asked finally.
– Should we start blowing at the sky? – laughed another supporter.
– Maybe the jumpers should do it? They’re so close to the clouds when they’re jumping… – shouted someone, and everyone laughed.
– Blimey, what is she doing?! – sasked Pola, even though she knew no one would answer her.
They still laughed when Adam Little took the microphone.
– Listen! It’s hard to do anything alone, and one, two, or even ten people can’t fight the smog. But what if everyone changes something today? What if everyone does one little thing to stop the smog?
The crowd got silent and started to listen. Now Rabbit Jump was speaking.
– Instead of going home by car, go by bus or by train! Instead of heating with culm, choose coal or wood. Never burn rubbish and magazines! Let’s plant some trees – in your homes and gardens in spring – so that they could clear the air!
– Our air will get better– said Eagle. – We will have beautiful, clear weather. You’ll see not only the competitors, but also the mountains. So, will you help? – krhe shouted loudly, and a few supporters bolted up.
– We will! – the crowd answered.
Bear the Judge took the megaphone and informed, that the competition will be delayed for another two days.

Two days later the sun was shining above the Great Krokiew.
– Dear guests, welcome to the competition! In a moment, ski jumping will begin – I’m very glad that we can finally start! – Bear the Judge welcomed everyone. – TThe smog is finally gone, and it’s thanks to you, your families and friends. MI need to say that one small kitten who two days ago said “It’s difficult to do anything alone, but if you believe in your idea and convince others, everything’s possible” was definitely right.
– Let’s start! Our first competitor is a dog, Rascal from Podlasie, who is already at the start bar… – the commentator began.
Rascal started beautifully and flew far…
