You’re probably wondering how? 😊 Wooden runners of a wicker sleigh are lubricated with wax, thanks to which they don’t rub too much on the asphalt and quickly go downwards. All of the slides are accompanied by two men that have rubber shoes that act like breaks for the sled. Therefore, a ride like this is not only attractive but also safe.
By doing an exercise, you can test which surface one can move the fastest and the farthest.
Materials
- 3 plastic bottle caps
- Double-sided adhesive tape
- Scissors
- A piece of wool
- A piece of thick sandpaper
- A tape-measure (not mandatory)
Task Description
Check which kind of touching surfaces is influencing the ability to slide. Our instruction and photos will help you in doing this exercise.
1. Take three plastic bottle caps.
2. On the convex side of one of them attach, using the double-sided adhesive tape, the piece of sandpaper.
3. Attach a quite tightly packed piece of wool to another one.
4. Leave the third one as it is.
5. By gently flicking on the bottle cap put on a smooth surface, for example, a table, observe which one of them moves the farthest.
